CLEVELAND -- Theyre alive, barely, but it beats the alternative. Shabazz Muhammad Jersey . The Indians playoff hopes are fragile, and theyre doing all they can to keep them from shattering. Yan Gomes hit a three-run homer, Michael Brantley got three more hits and Cleveland stayed in the AL wild-card chase for at least one more day with a 6-4 win over the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday night. A loss would have eliminated the Indians, but after blowing a 3-0 lead, they rallied and moved within 3 1/2 games of Kansas City and Oakland in the wild-card standings. There are four days left in the regular season. "We said all year long as long as we have life, were going to keep battling and thats exactly what we did tonight," outfielder David Murphy said. "Weve had some good moments. Weve had some bad moments this season, but hopefully were going to be going into the last series of the season still alive." The Royals, who havent made the playoffs since 1985, fell two games behind first-place Detroit in the AL Central. Zach McAllister (4-7) pitched 2 1-3 scoreless innings and Cody Allen worked the ninth for his 23rd save as the Indians kept their season relevant. Theyre off on Thursday, but the Indians will closely monitor Kansas Citys game in Chicago and Oaklands visit to Texas. "It has all to do whether or not we have life coming into Friday," Murphy said, "so regardless were going to come ready to play, but hopefully were going to be playing for something." Brantley has hit safely in 15 straight games and needs one more hit to be the first Indians player with 200 in a season since Kenny Lofton in 1996. The Indians took the lead in the fifth off rookie Brandon Finnegan (0-1) on Carlos Santanas RBI groundout. Cleveland added a run in the sixth on Murphys pinch sacrifice fly. Cleveland entered the unusual series -- the teams completed a suspended game on Monday -- 3 1/2 games behind the Royals and the Indians ended in the same place. Unfortunately for them, they wasted a chance to pull closer and now have to win their final three games and hope for help from other teams to play in the post-season. Billy Butler had three RBIs for Kansas City, which can lock up one of the two wild cards by winning one of four games in Chicago against the White Sox starting Thursday. "I know things are close, were close," Butler said. "Weve got four games left. If we could do it right now, wed be in a playoff spot. You cant help but realize that its right around the corner, but you have to keep grinding and keep your head down." Their flimsy playoff hopes fading, the Indians scored twice in the fifth to take a 5-4 lead. Jason Vargas hit Michael Bourn with a pitch to open the inning and Royals manager Ned Yost pulled the left-hander, who has just one win in his last seven starts. Jose Ramirez doubled off the wall and the speedy Bourn, waved around by third-base coach Mike Sarbaugh, scored the tying run on a headfirst dive into the plate, reaching in with his left hand to avoid catcher Salvador Perezs tag. "When you see a guy dive into home like that you realize nobodys playing out the string," Indians manager Terry Francona said. "He was pretty fired up." Gomes two-out shot, his 21st homer, to straightaway centre gave the Indians a 3-0 lead in the first. WALK THIS WAY Santana walked three times, giving him 112 this season, the sixth most in club history. Santana has walked more than any major league switch-hitter since Lance Berkman (127) for Houston in 2002. NO RELIEF Indians reliever Bryan Shaw tied the club record with his 79th appearance, matching the mark set by Bobby Howry in 2005. K KINGS Clevelands pitchers have combined for 1,419 strikeouts, nine shy of the major league record set by Detroit in 2013. TRAINERS ROOM Indians: Nick Swisher rejoined his teammates after undergoing surgery on both knees last month. Swisher tried to play through pain for several months before deciding to have his knees "cleaned out." He expects to be ready for the start of spring training. UP NEXT Royals: RHP James Shields (14-8) makes his team-leading 34th start as Kansas City tries to clinch a playoff spot in Chicago. Shields is 20-5 with a 2.48 ERA on the road since the start of 2013. Indians: The Indians end a stretch of 30 games in 30 days with their final off day of 2014. They open a three-game series vs. Tampa Bay on Friday as Corey Kluber (17-9) tries to strengthen his case for the Cy Young. Authentic Tayshaun Prince Jersey .C. Lions 35-14, was named the CFLs offensive player of the week Tuesday. Sheets recorded his ninth 100-yard rushing performance of the season to tie the Riders club record. Adreian Payne Jersey . Tottenham claimed top spot in Group K by winning 2-0 at Tromso after defender Adnan Causevic scored an own goal before Mousa Dembele put the result beyond doubt. Valencia made sure it will finish first in Group A with a 1-0 win at Swansea thanks to an early goal from Dani Parejo. http://www.thetimberwolvesteamshop.com/shabazz-muhammad-timberwolves-jersey/ . LOUIS -- Alexander Steen scored a power-play goal with 59.OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Dallas Mavericks didnt care if Oklahoma City was without star guard Russell Westbrook. They were just glad to finally beat the Thunder. Shawn Marion scored 19 points, Vince Carter added 18 and the Mavericks rolled past Oklahoma City 109-86 on Sunday night, ending a seven-game regular-season losing streak to the Thunder. Dallas beat Oklahoma City for the first time since Jan. 2, 2012. In addition to the seven straight regular-season losses to the Thunder, the Mavericks also were swept in a 2012 playoff series. "We played well," Dallas coach Rick Carlisle said. "Look, theyre down a great player, so we caught a break there. But youve still got to go out and play and theyve had a great record with and without Westbrook. Its a game we needed. We need every one, the battle that were in. We did good things. We had to clean some things up at halftime with rebounding. We did. We had four good quarters." Oklahoma City played without three usual starters -- the injured Kendrick Perkins and Thabo Sefolosha in addition to Westbrook. With the team wanting to ease Westbrook back into gear after his most recent knee surgery -- which cost him 27 games -- he was given the game off to rest. The Dallas game was the opener of what will be three back-to-backs on the Thunder schedule by March 25. Oklahoma City coach Scott Brooks said Westbrook will return Monday when the Thunder visit the Chicago Bulls. Kevin Durant scored 30 points for Oklahoma City, his 26th straight game of 25 points or more, the longest such streak since Michael Jordan did so in 40 straight games during the 1986-87 season. But with most of the Thunders other players struggling offensively, that wasnt enough to make up for Westbrooks absence. Brooks said his team lacked energy and effort and Durant agreed with that assessment, saying the Thunder "just coasted" as they fell two games behind San Antonio in the race for the top spot in the Western Conference. Durant refused to blame the absence of the three starters for the teams lacklustre performance. "There is no excuse," he said. "Weve got to figure it out. Weve each got to do it. Were pros. ... Weve got to act like we care. It will be all right.. Authentic Tyus Jones Jersey. Weve got another one tomorrow." Dirk Nowitzki added 17 points and Jose Calderon had 16 points for Dallas, which entered the game tied for seventh in the Western Conference standings. The Mavericks, who begin an eight-game homestand on Monday against the Boston Celtics, became only the third Western Conference team to win this season in Oklahoma City, joining Portland and the Los Angeles Clippers. "This is a tough place to play," Nowitzki said. "Obviously, Westbrook getting the night off, that helped us, but its really only a good thing if you win the game. Ive lost plenty of games in my career before when people were resting or hurt, but we still lost. Its only an advantage if you take care of business and I thought we did a good job." Porous defence, which Brooks has said has been at the root of Oklahoma Citys recent slump, again was an issue against the Mavericks. Dallas shot 53.3 per cent from the field and was even better from 3-point range, finishing 13 of 24. Calderon and Carter each went 4 for 8 from behind the arc and two other Mavericks (Marion and Nowitzki) had at least two 3-pointers apiece. Outside of Durant and Serge Ibaka (19 points), Oklahoma City struggled offensively. The Thunder shot 36.7 per cent from the field and never made a serious run during the second half after trailing 59-48 at halftime. Dallas led 91-70 entering the fourth quarter and the Mavericks eventually led by 26 points. NOTES: The Thunder signed G Mustafa Shakur to a 10-day contract on Sunday. Shakur, who has spent time in the NBA Development League this season, hadnt played in the NBA since appearing in 22 games for the Washington Wizards during the 2010-11 season before entering Sundays game with 6:16 left. He spent time on Oklahoma Citys roster during the 2009-10 season but never played. ... Carter raised his career total to 23,010 points, becoming the 27th NBA player to pass the 23,000-point mark with a 3-pointer with 2:17 left in the third quarter. ... Nowitzki was called for a technical foul with 7:52 left in the third quarter by official Derrick Collins after Nowitzki complained about being called for travelling by Collins. ... Reggie Jackson added 13 points for Oklahoma City. Wholesale NFL Jerseys ' ' '
